The League of Trees
For Ontario Power Generation
Move over Avengers... Trees are the real deal!
When Ontario Power Generation announced plans to step up their tree-planting efforts across the province, I was on the lucky team of folks tasked with growing awareness and support for the initiative. This wasn’t about changing minds – who doesn’t love trees? It was about getting people to look again.
These big, powerful plants quietly fight climate change, capture carbon, manage water, and provide homes for wildlife every day. Pretty heroic stuff by any Ontarian’s account. The League of Trees felt inevitable.
To develop the League’s characters we drew on the tree expertise of our brilliant partners at Leaf, The Bruce Trail, and Nature Conservancy of Canada. We also drew on the 90s-action-figure expertise of our entire team.
This project was such a joy, made possible by a stellar league: art director Jess Carter, powerhouse producer Jackie Pal, CCO Matt Hassell, our trusting client Adam McClare, and the production heroes at Mighty Oak (shout out to Michaela Olsen and her team).
