Dear Everybody 2.0
For Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilition Hospital
“How come none of you look like us?”
In year one of the Dear Everybody platform, brothers Jud and Jes asked this question to the superhero characters they saw on TV. It’s a question that lingers, highlighting the importance of seeing yourself reflected in the world around you.
If stigma lives in what we assume, it also lives in what we see. So as Dear Everybody moved into its second year, kids went from authors to image makers. They reshaped how disability is seen – art directing the campaign and presenting themselves on their own terms.
I worked with Art Director Jess Carter on this campaign. The images were created with the wonderful Dan Ehrenworth, and shaped through the vision of Jadine, Zack, Gavi, Liam, Jen and Dominic. With deep thanks to the Holland Bloorvew community for their trust and partnership.
